  7. Water as required

  9. 1 Garlic whole bulb
  10. For Haleem:
  11. 1/4 cup Oil
  12. 1 Onion large
  13. 1/2 kg Boneless chicken
  14. 4 tbsp Ginger garlic
  15. 2 tbsp Coriander powder
  16. 2 tsp Chilli powder
  17. 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  18. 5 Cloves
  19. 5 Green cardamoms
  20. 1 Black Cardamom
  21. Salt to taste
  22. 1/2 cup Whole wheat grains
  23. 1/4 cup Chana daal
  24. 2 tbsp Red daal
  25. 2 tbsp Rice
  26. 2 tbsp Maash daal
  27. 2 tbsp Moong daal
  28. For Biryani:
  29. 1/4 cup Oil
  30. 1 Onion
  31. 3-4 Green Chillies
  32. 4-5 Cloves
  33. 4-5 Green cardamoms
  34. 1/4 tsp Black peppercorns
  35. 1 Black cardamom
  36. 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  37. 2 tsp Ginger garlic
  38. 100 gms Yoghurt
  39. 1/2 kg Rice
  40. Salt to taste
  41. 1 Fried onion
  42. 1 tsp Kewra water
  43. 1/8 tsp Yellow colour
  44. For Topping:
  45. /2" piece Ginger 1
  46. 3-4 Green chillies
  47. 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder

Steps to make to make Haleem Biryani

  1. Soak all the grains overnight.
  2. Soak rice for few hours.
  3. Cook together broth ingredients till chicken is tender and liquid is reduced to half.
  4. Roughly shred the chicken.
  5. Heat oil in a pan.
  6. Fry onion till light golden.
  7. Add in boneless chicken,ginger garlic and all the spices.
  8. Bhoono it well.
  9. Cook covered for 10 minutes.
  10. Add in all the soaked ingredients.
  11. Strain the broth and discard the spices.
  12. Heat oil in another pan.
  13. Add in onion,chillies and all the spices.
  14. Fry till onion is translucent.
  15. Add in shredded chicken,salt,ginger garlic and yoghurt.
  16. Give it a good stir.
  17. Add in rice and broth.
  18. Cook till liquid evaporates.
  19. Add in onion,kewra and colour.
  20. Cook covered on dum for 10 minutes.
  21. Cook haleem ingredients till it reaches the medium consistency.
  22. It should not be too thick and nor too runny.
  23. Add in all the topping ingredients.
  24. Dish out biryani in a serving plate.
  25. Add haleem over biryani.
  26. Serve straight away.
